Mountaineering gear is expensive so it pays to shop around for the latest discounts and to try to buy most of your equipment using coupon codes or when it is on sale. Since starting this Web site, I’ve been lucky enough to land on the mailing lists of some of the biggest outdoor retailers and they let me know whenever they have new promotions or put stuff on sale. It can all add up to big savings. If you’d like to get informed of these great opportunities to buy discount camping and mountaineering gear from top brands then sign up to my mailing list. I don’t send out regular blog posts. I only update it when there is something to say about gear discounts. You can sign up right here:

If you’d rather not, that’s cool. Keep checking back here regularly as I also try to update this page with the latest discount codes. Meanwhile there are also some evergreen codes that work all the time.

Coupons that always work

Below are some coupons that always work

Moosejaw discounts and coupon codes

  • To get 5% off Moosejaw items that are already on sale (ie an extra 5% discount in addition to the sale price) use the code AVANTSALE. There are some exclusions from the discount but most major brands are covered including The North Face. You can access it through this link.
  • To get 10% off regular-priced merchandise use the code ALSAVE10 when checking out. It works for many goods but those excluded from the discount include The North Face, Patagonia, Arceteryx and Suunto. You can use that code with the following link.

South Africa’s Otter Trail in the Tsitsikamma National Park in widely regarded as the country’s best hiking trail. And it is with good reason: the spectacular trail winds along the edge of the coast, offering plenty of opportunities for swimming. Each of its huts has spectacular views of the ocean.
