Petzl Responds to Reliability Concerns on MYO

Petzl has responded to my post that some users have expressed concerns about the reliability of the MYO 3 headlights, saying they aren’t aware of these problems here in the U.K. and urging people experiencing problems to return the lights for repair. Seems to me they’re taking this one seriously – which is always a sign of a company dedicated to improving its products.
Here’s their full reply.

I am the Petzl Lighting Brand Manager for UK and Ireland and work very closely with the Petzl team in France. Please note that any comments from me are geographically limited to UK and Ireland.
May I point out that there are (at least?) 3 different products being discussed on the site s and links – Myo XP, Myo 3, MyoLite.
It’s great that this information is being shared but what would be a superb ( for everyone, especially consumers) is if the people who feel there’s a fault with the product took it back to the shop so the shop can then raise any issues with us.There is a 3 year guarantee.
I personally would question any company or individual who claims to have the perfect product and said nothing ever goes wrong. Petzl does make excellent product but we do need to know of any concerns so we can continually raise standards.
Wiring in the lamps – before seeing your message I had not heard of any problems. Please could anyone with a fault speak to the shop so we can get this information back thought the system. If there is a problem we want to know about it urgently so we can sort it but we do not want to undermine the role of retailers.
